History
Auslec was formally made up of a group of independent companies. They included, RG Panks, Elanco, WG Watsons, Austral Lighting, Gerard & Goodman and Electric House. Each of these organisations were specialist distributors of Industrial Electrical Equipment.
During the 1980's, they were purchased by Pacific Dunlop and placed within their Distribution Group division, alongside Lawrence & Hanson. This was done to ensure Pacific Dunlop could offer its customer both a comprehensive contractor AND industrial product solution. The individual companies were then re-branded Auslec and brought under the one brand name.
The Dutch company, Hagemeyer N.V, a global business to business distribution and services group, announced its acquisition of Pacific Dunlop's Electrical Group in Australia in August 2000.
Hagemeyer Australia was later acquired by Sonepar, on 14 June 2008.
Auslec has continued a proud history started by these companies in delivering a comprehensive industrial product and service solution to the Australian industrial market. It now has 29 branches conveniently located around the country backed by a sophisticated logistics system designed to ensure your business has what it needs when it needs it. |
